DTown Farm Supply Organic Veggies For Detroit's Newest Restaurant

 Phil Jones the, chef of Colors Detroit Restaurant, shows off some of the produce from the DTown Farm.  The power packed vitaman, mineral, Omega rich succulent Purse Lane herb, used to make the delicious nutritional inspired DTown,  "Kemetian Salad",   Jones came to D-Town Farm in to talk with farm manager Kwamena Mensah and check out some of the produce he'll use in the new Paradise Valley

D-Town Farm 5th Annual Harvest Festival 2011

D-Town Farm Hosts Fifth Annual Harvest Festival
“Healthy Soil, Healthy People, Healthy Planet”
Saturday, September 24, 2011- Noon - 6:00 pm
at River Rouge Park in Northwestern Detroit
Orangelawn and West Outer Drive
Come join the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network at its model 2 acre urban farm to share in this celebration of community sustainability. Featuring something for everyone, adults and children can participate in valuable and timely learnshops such as container gardening, composting, raw food, and beekeeping and honey production.  hands-on learnshops, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, a fresh food market place, and more.
Families can enjoy touring D-Town Farm’s operation which includes organic vegetable plots, two bee hives, hoop houses for year round food production, and a composting operation. Our produce is grown using sustainable, chemical-free practices, and sold at D-Town farm, Eastern Market, and urban growers markets throughout Detroit.
